Extended Mode in Batomon Showdown
A 10-win continuation to day 40. It is not infinite, and it does not pay extra stars.
Extended Mode is the Batomon Showdown continuation after a finished 10-win run. Players also call it endless. Both names are the same mode. It is not infinite: the continuation ends after day 40 or when your lives run out. It is not a second ranked file: if the original run was Ranked, the 10-win result is scored before you continue. Extended days do not add another rank or MMR change, completed game, or run win. This page is the continuation manual. How to actually reach ten trophies is the 10-win guide. Star math lives on ranks. The normal ruleset lives on how to play.
How you turn it on
The setting appears after your first 10-win run. Enable Extended Mode in Settings, then choose Extended on a later 10-win summary to continue that same team. It does not start every run in Extended automatically. If you never open Settings, you will keep ending on the championship screen and wonder why creators are on day 22. That is a menu miss, not a missing unlock item.
Lives still matter. You do not reset to 10. You carry the bar you finished with, plus whatever Second Chance already spent. A continuation on 1 life is a highlight reel, not a plan. Events still appear; Extended has its own late prep event before the continuation’s final stretch. Treat that event like a shop, not like a story chapter. Events lists the normal day 3 / 6 / 9 cadence and the extra late choice.
Matchmaking changes
Normal runs do not draw Extended boards. An Extended run may draw either kind. It contributes boards without the normal Mythical and hard-counter exclusions, and it does not soften the opponent before battle. That sentence is the whole reason Master players film Extended: the snapshots you face can keep Dirgefin, Reapra, Celestia, and Mythical-held boards that Casual Gold never sees. You also stop receiving the lower-tier shrink that strips trinkets or omits Basilord. If your 10-win was a softened climb, day 11 can feel like a different game. That is intended.
Search is still asynchronous. Nobody is waiting live. Failed fetches still retry. You can still cancel before an opponent is accepted. Non-Extended Ranked Master runs cache later days in the background; once you are in Extended, treat each Battle as a fresh search against a nastier pool. The combat guide still owns sudden death, Shield, and the 0.1s cooldown floor. Thumbnails that say 0.0s cooldown in endless are still lying about the floor.
The embedded video is a continuation that keeps a Burn engine running past the championship screen. Copy the “this is the same team, now the pool is honest” mindset, not a day-40 screenshot from a different patch. Burn builds and Shock builds still need their own shops. Extended does not invent a fourth status.
What Extended is for
Use it to:
- Stress-test a board you already 10-won, with no extra star risk.
- See unssoftened snapshots and withheld names without sitting in Master ranked.
- Spend leftover candies and a Level 4 disc after the ranked payout is already banked.
- Film a long Sunsage or Formiqueen line for fun. Fun is allowed. Stars are not the point.
Do not use it to:
- Recover a 4-win Ranked file. You never reached the summary that offers Extended.
- Farm extra Master MMR. The 10-win already scored. Later days are unranked continuation.
- Hide a Mythical from matchmaking. Extended contributes boards without those exclusions; your Mythical is visible. Mythical builds.
- Skip learning the shop. If you cannot 10-win, this page is not your shortcut. Go back to Getting Started.
Launch week caution
The Steam full client is scheduled for September 15, 2026, with the public demo scheduled to come down on September 14. Extended Mode is a demo-era continuation that the catalog still documents. We will not write that the full client has shipped while the store still says coming soon. If launch adds a new endgame name, we will add a row when the post exists. Until then, day 40 is the cap, Settings is the unlock, and patch notes own number changes.
If you only wanted to know whether endless pays extra stars, the answer is no. Bank the 10-win, then continue for the pool, not for the ladder. Official links if the menu text in your build disagrees with this page — the live client wins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Extended Mode the same as endless?
Yes. The menu says Extended Mode; players also say endless. Both names are the continuation after a 10-win.
Does Extended Mode give more rank stars?
No. The 10-win is scored first. Later days add no rank, MMR, or extra completed-game credit. See ranks.
How do I unlock it?
Finish one 10-win run, enable Extended Mode in Settings, then choose Extended on a later championship summary. It does not start every run automatically.
Do Extended fights stay softened?
No. Extended does not soften snapshots and does not use the normal Mythical and hard-counter withholds. Details are in the matchmaking section above.
