Batomon Showdown Shop, Gold, and Merging

Five slots, one untimed decision, and the copy recipes that actually make level 3.

Shop and Merging

Every Batomon Showdown day starts in the shop. Combat is the exam; the shop is the studying. This page is the economy ruleset: slot layout, reroll cost, lock behavior, shop rank, merge math, shiny inheritance, sell value after discounts, and the trinket gift that drops when you actually combine copies. Read Getting Started if you still need the HUD tour, and keep the economy tool open for gold tables.

The five-slot row

A normal shop shows four Batomon and one eligible Item while you still have an item use remaining. If you are out of item uses, the fifth slot becomes another Batomon. Shopkeeper raises item rarity by one tier and discounts item cost by 15 percent, which can flip that fifth slot into the most important offer on the screen. Membership Card, after its Balance 14 rework, lets you use one additional item that day. Items resolve immediately: they are not held as equipment. Buying Cake, Coffee, a Ticket, or a Berry is a shop action, not a combat click.

Shop rank climbs with the day and only sets odds. A rank-4 shop can still show a Common. Trainers, trinkets, and items can raise or lower rank. Older patches added tools to stay low-rank on purpose when you are hunting a specific Common merge (Formiqueen cores want Commons next to the queen). Do not autopilot rank up if your engine is Common-shaped. Check the comp list before you spend a rank-up trinket.

Reroll, lock, and free rolls

A paid reroll costs 3 gold and replaces all five offers. If a free reroll is queued, that token is spent instead. Rerolling clears a visible lock before the new row appears; if the shop was already locked for tomorrow, the replacement row still carries over. Youngster’s catalog ability is three free rerolls each day, which is why that trainer is the default first pick on beginner trainers. Rich Lady was reworked away from “force a level-3 Common with free rerolls” because that line did not match the fantasy; do not copy year-old VODs that treat her as infinite rolls.

Lock is for a missing copy, not for indecision. If you need one more Bumblebolt and the shop shows it with two dead offers, lock, fight, and collect tomorrow. If you lock a whole row of units you cannot afford, you have frozen your future. Empty locked slots refill on a later day after the durability patches. Selling to make space is allowed; just remember discounted buys sell for less. Bug Net style cost cuts used to create infinite-money loops; the live rule reduces sell value by the discount you received. Do not plan an exploit that the April 2026 notes already closed.

Merge recipes

  • Three matching level-1 copies → one level 2, plus a trinket gift.
  • Two matching level-2 copies → one level 3, plus a trinket gift.
  • Level 4 is not a normal combine. Only special effects push that far.

Copies must match. A shiny and a normal still count as the same name; if any ingredient is shiny, the result is shiny. That matters because some shinies rewrite the On Cast line entirely (shiny Bambudo is a permanent damage on-cast, not a tint). Shiny Berry turns a random eligible non-shiny unit shiny and consumes an item use. Ultra Candy, Rare Candy, and Basic Candy are level tools with their own gold costs; they do not replace the copy recipe, they skip it at a price.

The mid-article video is a “all level 3” challenge run. Watch how the player refuses to spend the last 10 gold on a random Super Rare when a third copy is one reroll away. That discipline is the skill. Evolution and transformation are separate verbs from merging: some lines change form through events or items, not through three copies. If a unit’s card says evolve, read that card; do not assume the TFT triple-up rule covers it. Transformation on Mad Scientist day 7 is a board wipe into random level-1 Legendaries, which is the opposite of a merge. Plan gold after the transform, not before. See mythical builds and the trainer guide.

Trinkets versus items

Merging is the most reliable trinket faucet. Duplicators (Mini, Mega, Ultra) copy non-unique trinkets only after later patches; unique pieces will not clone. Haste bells, power bells, crowns, orbs, and economy trinkets (Piggy Bank, Gold Bar, Gold-o-matic, Market License) change either combat speed or tomorrow’s shop. Market License is a trinket that raises shop rank; Shady Contract style effects lower rank and pay gold. Read the bag before you buy a unit that needs a trinket you already spent.

Items are the one-shot shop spells: baits, tickets, berries, candies, Battery Pack, Hot Pepper, Magic Mirror, Recruiting Flyer. Magic Mirror gives a plain copy without permanent buffs. Echo Bell was patched to work on 0-cost items. If an item says “today,” it expires with the day. The economy tool lists when a 3-gold reroll is better than a 15-gold unit you will sell tomorrow.

Events as shop cheats

Events before days 3, 6, and 9 are extra shops with better verbs. A Bug Collector can hand you a level-2 Guardiant, a buffed Gildshell, or a Brawlmantis with extra Multicast. Dragon Tamer, Pond Fairy, Meteor Crash, and Rainbow Berry each skip gold gates. Take the piece that completes a merge or a trigger, not the rarest name. Second Chance is also an event; spend it like a shop, not like a panic button.

When the shop is understood, combat is just the scoreboard. Move to the combat guide for cooldown and status, then the team planner to draw adjacency before you hit Battle. If a patch changes a cost, believe patch notes over any screenshot on this page.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How much does a reroll cost?

3 gold, unless a free reroll token is available. Youngster is the trainer who prints those tokens. See beginner trainers.

Do three copies always make level 2?

Yes for normal merging of matching level-1 units. Level 4 needs a special effect. Full notes are on the Level 4 guide.

Why did my unit sell for less than the shop price?

Sell value is reduced by discounts you received when buying it. Cost-cut loops were patched out.

Should I always raise shop rank?

No. Common-centric cores such as Formiqueen want low-rank density. Check the comp tier list before you burn a rank-up trinket.
