Burn Builds in Batomon Showdown

Burn wants wins and Fire bodies. A six-second Shock shop is the wrong clock.

Burn Builds

Burn is the snowball status in Batomon Showdown. Shock wants extra direct hits. Poison wants the shared HP bar still standing at 20 seconds. Burn wants Fire bodies on the board and, if you locked Redhead, actual victories so the stack grows for the rest of the run. Players who copy a Chef lock and then buy a Chemist-shaped Toxic mesh are fighting two clocks. This page is the Burn shop plan. Status math stays on combat. Chef and Redhead sentences live on the trainer guide.

The two trainers

Chef paints Fire onto your single-typed monsters and gives Fire monsters +2 Burn. Dual-types do not get the paint. A Bug/Electric Bumblebolt stays Bug/Electric; a mono Common can become Fire and start ticking. An older patch dropped Chef’s Burn bonus from +3 to +2 because the trainer already posted a high average win rate among people who understood the paint. Do not copy a May VOD that still says +3.

Redhead is the win tax: On Victory, give your Fire monsters +2 Burn permanently. She does nothing for a Water wall. She also does nothing if you keep losing. Chef is the more flexible lock because the paint works even when the shop is not already Fire. Redhead is the tempo lock: if days 1–4 are wins, the stack becomes the run. If days 1–4 are learning losses, you have a blank card. You can pair them only if Masked Man copies the other later. Until then, pick one.

Sunsage is the late Fire engine creators keep filming. Community VODs treat it as the Scorchamp line’s level-3 form: for each Fire ally, Sunsage gains Cooldown Speed permanently. That is why a Chef board that actually keeps Fire neighbors starts looking illegal in the teens of a fight, and why a lonely Sunsage next to four tourists is just a slow caster. Magmite, Panbud, and other Fire names fill the early shop; Blixie can hand Burn to the Fire ally on its right. Read the live card. A dual-type you hoped Chef would paint will not tick.

Shield, ticks, and the wrong status

Burn ticks. Shield absorbs. Current notes: status damage into Shield is reduced (15 percent in the August pass). Poison used to ignore Shield; that is dead, and Burn never had that cheat. Craghorn berry walls stall you. Either stack enough Burn that reduced ticks still win, or pivot into the Berroon comp on their terms. Sudden death at 30 seconds can finish a Burn fight you almost won, or steal one you were about to close. Fast Forward hides the lesson. Controls maps pause.

Do not mix:

  • Poison. Chemist wants long losses that still tick. Redhead wants wins. Poison builds are a different page on purpose.
  • Shock. Direct hits retrigger Shock; Burn ticks do not. A hybrid that never casts is a worse Shock build and a worse Fire board.
  • Mad Scientist day 7. Random level-1 Legendaries can delete your Fire mesh. If you locked that trainer, read mythical builds instead of this page.

The embedded video is a Sunsage Burn session that climbs into huge tick numbers. Copy the Fire-neighbor discipline, not a six-unit screenshot from a different patch. Ranked still softens low-tier boards; a Master hose is not a Bronze shopping list. How to play explains the withhold and soften rules.

Shop plan

Days 1–4: take Chef if the three trainers include it and you do not already have a Chemist or Bug Catcher plan. Redhead is correct only if you can actually win the early snapshots. Buy cheap mono-types Chef can paint, or real Fire copies. Spend Youngster rerolls on pairs, not on previewing Legendaries. Lock a missing third copy. Battery Pack is a Shock item; do not buy it “for damage” on this line. Hot Pepper and other Burn items belong on items and trinkets when the bodies already exist.

Days 5–7: every loss costs 3 lives. You need a recognizable Fire cluster plus at least one merge so the ticks have a caster. Events that hand a Fire body or a multicast caster can still help if they leave room for Burn; a Bug Collector Brawlmantis is not a Burn plan by itself. See events. If Sunsage or the Scorchamp pair appears, protect the recipe. A Level 4 candy on the Fire engine is usually better than a candy on a tourist.

Days 8–10: freeze. Extra Fire neighbors for Sunsage, extra item uses that buff Burn, extra fight length only if the ticks need it. Sirenade stripping debuffs is an enemy of your stack if you somehow splashed Water. Stay on-message. If you already have 10 wins and Settings shows Extended Mode, the continuation is a different page: Extended Mode.

Lives and ranked

Burn runs often look “fine” at 8 lives and then die on two day-6 Shield stalls. Budget with the 10-win guide. Overwriting a ranked save still scores wins minus 5. Test Chef in Casual. Ranks.

Launch sets on September 15, 2026 may add more Fire names. Until they exist, this is the Chef-or-Redhead plan with Sunsage as the filmed late carry. The Batomon tier list is the shop filter; this page is the engine. When a number changes, patch notes own it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Does Chef paint Fire onto dual-type Batomon?

No. Only single-typed monsters gain Fire. Dual-types keep their original types. Confirm on the trainer guide.

Should I lock Redhead or Chef?

Chef is the flexible paint. Redhead needs early wins to grow Burn. If days 1–4 are learning losses, Chef is the safer lock.

Does Burn ignore Shield?

No. Status into Shield is reduced. Poison’s old ignore-Shield trick is also dead. See combat and patch notes.

Can I splash Poison on a Burn board?

Usually no. Redhead wants wins; Chemist wants long ticks. Pick one engine and fund it on Poison builds or this page.
