How Batomon Showdown Ranks Work
Complete a Casual 10-win, then spend stars like they were lives.
Ranked in Batomon Showdown uses the same shop-and-battle run as Casual, then scores the finish. You unlock it by completing a 10-win Casual run. This page is the scoring manual. How to actually get those ten trophies is the 10-win guide. Who you fight is how to play. Which trainer to lock is the trainer hub.
The six tiers
From the bottom: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master. Bronze through Diamond each have eight divisions. Division 8 is the lowest in a tier, division 1 is the highest. A new profile starts at Bronze 8 with 0 stars and 1000 ranked MMR. Master has no divisions and no stars; it is an MMR leaderboard place.
A division shows 0–4 stars. Reaching five promotes you immediately, so you never sit on five filled stars. Clearing division 1 promotes you into division 8 of the next tier. Clearing Diamond 1 promotes you to Master and wipes division/star display.
Stars: wins minus 5
Every completed non-Extended ranked run changes stars by wins minus 5:
- 0–4 wins: lose 5–1 stars
- 5 wins: no star change
- 6–10 wins: gain 1–5 stars
If a star loss crosses zero, you drop a division and keep the leftover math. Dropping below division 8 sends you to division 1 of the previous tier. Bronze 8 at 0 stars is the floor; extra losses do not go negative there.
This is why a 7-win “pretty good” run is only +2 stars, and why a 4-win experiment is a −1 star tax. If you are one star from Gold, a greedy Gamer lock that dies at 4 wins is a demotion tool. Play a trainer from beginner trainers when a promotion is on the line.
MMR is a separate number
Stars decide the badge. MMR decides pairing and, in Master, the leaderboard. MMR change is the rounded value of 20 × (your wins − expected wins), minimum total MMR of 0. Expected wins depend on your tier and the average MMR of the opponent slate. Against an equal-MMR slate, expected-win targets are about 9 in Bronze, 8.125 Silver, 7.25 Gold, 6.375 Platinum, and 5.5 Diamond or Master. Day 1 is left out of the sample. Missing or bot ratings can count as 600 MMR. Master prepares days 1–18 in the background and freezes that sample.
You can gain stars and lose MMR, or the reverse, if the slate was easy or hard. Do not use MMR as a life total. Use it as “the game thinks I should have won this many.”
Master specifics
The demo does not demote Master players. Later ranked runs still move MMR, but star/division progression stays off. Place is 1 plus the number of Master players with higher ranked MMR. The game refreshes that place after a Master result, after promotion, and when a returning Master hits the title screen. Mythical-held boards and certain units (Dirgefin, Reapra, Celestia) are allowed here in ways lower tiers never see. That is why Master VODs are a different sport. See mythical builds.
Abandonment, overwrites, Extended, resets
Overwriting an unfinished ranked save scores it immediately at the current win total for stars and MMR. It does not add a completed game, a run win, or a completed trainer run; it only applies the rank result. An unfinished Extended continuation is exempt from that overwrite scoring. If you start Ranked, finish it or accept the tax.
Continuing a 10-win ranked run in Extended Mode does not score twice. The normal finish counts. Extended days add no rank, no MMR, no extra completed game. Enable Extended in Settings after your first championship; it is optional and ends at day 40 or death.
This demo snapshot has no seasonal rank reset. Tier, division, stars, and both MMR ratings save with the profile. Launch on September 15, 2026 could change that; until a patch note says so, assume your Bronze 3 is still Bronze 3 next week. Watch patch notes.
Play Ranked when you can execute a core from the comp list without staring at this page. Ranked is a scoring layer. It is not a different game. If you cannot 10-win in Casual, Ranked will not teach you faster. It will only bill you stars.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I unlock Ranked?
Complete a 10-win Casual run. Then read this page before you click Ranked on a file you care about.
Do 10 wins always promote me?
They are +5 stars, which promotes if you had room. From 0 stars you still need the division math. Five stars promote immediately.
Does Extended Mode change my rank?
No. The 10-win is scored first. Extended is unranked continuation.
Can I be demoted from Master in the current build?
The demo does not demote Master. MMR still moves. Confirm on patch notes after launch.
