Patch Notes

This page is a player-facing digest of Batomon Showdown demo and pre-launch patches that still affect how you shop. It is not a complete changelog. Steam news and the in-game notes are the complete changelog. When we disagree, they win. Current catalog snapshot: Balance 14 / Steam build 24914580. After September 15, 2026, expect a launch set of notes; we will not invent it.

Read this next to the comp list and the Batomon tier list. A YouTube title from June is a history video until you check these bullets.

Combat and Shield (spring through August)

  • Late-game multiplicative scaling was nerfed in the durability patch so HP bars last long enough to read. If your 2026-04 brain says “everything dies at 2 seconds,” replay a current fight.
  • Poison no longer ignores Shield. Status damage into Shield was reduced (30 percent in an earlier note, then Shield status damage reduction 25% → 15% in the August balance pass). Shield teams want time; status teams no longer delete them for free.
  • Shock still does not retrigger off status ticks. That rule was documented, not removed. See combat.
  • Pyronade, Electranade, and Stingarde finish multicast before knockout, so dying casters complete extra hits.
  • Post-battle stats gained Shock contribution so you can see who actually did the work.

Units that moved

  • Formiqueen cooldown buff 33/67/100% → 25/50/75%. Still the Common-haste core. Less free.
  • Craghorn cost $25 → $30. Item-scaling is still real; the gold tax is realer.
  • Boomagon cooldown 6s → 7s. Guardiant 3.5s → 4s. Mosslug 5s → 6s. Stingarde 5s → 6s. Thorntail 6.5s → 6s (a buff).
  • Pebbler was cheapened and sped up in an earlier durability pass; Tortress shield values went up. Shield is a plan, not a meme.
  • Aegistruct cooldown 7s → 8s as a pre-nerf around Draconarch pairs.
  • Geminiss lost multiplicative consecutive-spell scaling.
  • Berroon was reworked more than once. Live catalog text: On Battle Start, the next 1/2/3 shop items are berries. An intermediate patch tried “increase next day’s item limit.” Believe the card you hover today.
  • Wishwash gained $20 sell value and extra combat because it was a clunky trinket farm.
  • Voltalith was removed from the shop pool. Stop hunting it. Ironcore remains as the Electric charger.
  • Black Feather (easy multicast) was removed. Do not follow a guide that still buys it.

Trainers, items, trinkets

  • Shopkeeper item discount 25% → 15%.
  • Membership Card reworked to you can use 1 additional item today.
  • Market License became a trinket that increases shop rank. Rank-down tools exist if you want Commons.
  • Mini / Mega / Ultra Duplicator only copy non-unique trinkets.
  • Upgrade Disc activates once per buy even with multiple discs.
  • Echo Bell only works on 0-cost items.
  • Shiny Berry cost $0 → $1. Recruiting Flyer $70 → $90. Basic Candy $20 → $30. Magic Mirror $120 and copies a plain unit without permanent buffs.
  • Sell value is reduced by purchase discounts. Infinite Bug Net gold is closed.
  • Youngster free rerolls per day 2 → 3 in an early patch. That buff is why the beginner trainers page starts there.
  • Monster Ranger gained the extra copy every 2 days because the lone Uncommon was falling off.
  • Rich Lady was reworked away from forcing level-3 Commons with rerolls. Ignore old VODs.
  • Chemist poison stacking through millions of value was targeted when rank-down tools made it too easy. The live card still grows on level-up; it is not a license to AFK.

Matchmaking and UX

  • New-player pairing was adjusted more than once so early wins meet slightly harder boards, and so Dirgefin / Celestia / Reapra are less common outside the ranks that can handle them.
  • Batopedia, hover-highlight for related abilities, and battle stat screens were added during the demo. Use them. Controls maps the buttons.
  • A UI layering bug with Batopedia during trinket select was fixed. If you are on a very old itch build, update.
  • Mobile links were added to the title screen ahead of the Android plan. That is not the same as the Play Store client shipping.

How to apply a note without throwing a run

If Formiqueen is weaker, you still park Commons on her; you just cannot ignore Onsetra or haste trinkets. If Craghorn is $30, Shopkeeper and cheap berries matter more. If duplicators ignore unique trinkets, stop building a unique-crown clone fantasy. Then play one Casual shop before a ranked file. Ranks will bill an overwrite at the current win count.
