Batomon Showdown Meta Comps and Team Cores
Three S+ engines, then the status plans that steal their slots.
A “comp” in Batomon Showdown is not a six-name copy-paste. It is a trigger plus the units that feed it. Public Balance 14 samples keep repeating three S+ cores with real 10-win conversion: Formiqueen Commons, Berroon items, and Plunderbird Water. This page explains how to recognize those shops, what to lock, and when to leave for Shock, Burn, or Poison. Unit letters live on the Batomon tier list. Life budget lives on the 10-win guide.
S+ Formiqueen — Bumblebolt + Onsetra
Observed boards in the recent window converted around 43 percent of terminal runs to 10 wins in one public sample (44 of 102). That is the highest of the three headline cores, with a smaller sample than Berroon, so treat it as “very real,” not as a law.

What you buy: Formiqueen, Commons that want haste (Bumblebolt first), then Onsetra if you can place her so the Ongoing unit sits in the “behind” slot. Velocect, Cherubble, Stellagon showed up as frequent neighbors in reconstructed boards; they are optional spice, not the engine.
Shop talk: Stay willing to keep shop rank lower so Commons appear. Bug Catcher pays you to do this. Youngster rolls for the third copy. Do not delete your Commons because a Legendary looks lonely. Haste numbers were nerfed; the shape of the comp was not.
Position: Commons adjacent to Formiqueen. Onsetra aimed at Formiqueen (or whoever owns Ongoing). Hover-highlight must light up. Use the team planner.
S+ Berroon — Craghorn + Dryadell
Larger sample, about 36 percent 10-win conversion in the same public window (68 of 191). You are an item user.
What you buy: Berroon (berries the next shop items on battle start, scaling 1/2/3 by level), Craghorn (gains damage and shield when you use an item; $30), Dryadell (On Cast triggers Grass above). Draconarch, Boomagon, Stalagrove appeared as frequent extras. Shopkeeper and Membership Card are the trainer/item pair that feed uses.
Shop talk: Item uses are the resource. Membership Card’s rework is “one additional item today.” Coffee, berries, cheap tickets, and 0-cost plays (Echo Bell cares) are ammunition for Craghorn. If you buy Berroon and then never tap an item, you own a Grass pet.
Position: Dryadell under the Grass unit she should retrigger. Craghorn does not need to touch Berroon, but he needs you to actually click items. Read shop and merging.
S+ Plunderbird — Torrantler + Sirenade
Smaller sample, about 33 percent conversion (17 of 52). Economy plus heal plus Water triggers.
What you buy: Plunderbird (heal, multicast x2, $1 on cast), Sirenade (heal, strip 20 percent debuffs), Torrantler (big heal, trigger adjacent Water except other Torrantler). Aster, Dirgefin, Shelldra showed up in reconstructions; Dirgefin is a matchmaking headache outside Master, so do not build your identity on him in Gold.
Shop talk: Swim Coach injects Water daily. Casts make gold, gold buys copies, copies make more casts. Sirenade exists because long Water fights accumulate debuffs you do not want.
Position: Torrantler adjacent to the Water units you want to retrigger, never stacked as a Torrantler sandwich if the card excludes copies. Plunderbird wants to cast, so haste still matters.
A status comps
Shock: Battery Pack, Electric, multicast, Formiqueen overlap. Full page: Shock builds.
Burn: Chef paints single-typed units Fire; Redhead adds permanent Burn on victory; Fire units want to win fights to snowball, which is the opposite of a slow Poison hose. The 10-win Fire video on the championship page is this family.
Poison: Chemist grows Toxic poison on every level-up. Wants fight length. Do not pair it with a 6-second burst plan. The combat embed is a Poison session for a reason.
Mad Scientist / Gamer spikes: Not comps you pick in the shop on day 1. They are scheduled disruptions. See mythical builds.
How to pivot without throwing 3 lives
If day 4 has no Formiqueen, no Berroon, and no Water engine, do not force S+ names. Merge whatever your trainer prints. A Bug Catcher 10-win with ugly Commons still scores ranked stars. Stars care about wins minus 5, not about whether the board looks like a widget. Ranks explain the math.
If two cores appear at once, pick the one that already has copies. Dual-coring is how people miss both level 3s. Lock is for the missing piece of one engine. The economy tool will tell you if a 3-gold reroll is cheaper than a $30 Craghorn you cannot use yet.
When launch sets arrive after September 15, 2026, this page will add cores that actually convert. Until then, these three plus status plans are the honest meta. Everything else is a spicy 8-win.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Which meta comp is easiest for new players?
Formiqueen Commons if Bug Catcher or Youngster is available, or Plunderbird Water if you lock Swim Coach. See beginner trainers.
Do I need every name in the reconstructed boards?
No. Those lists are frequent neighbors, not a six-slot mandate. Buy the trigger first.
Why is Berroon a comp instead of a single unit?
Because Craghorn and item uses are the payoff. Berroon without items is just a Grass body.
Should I copy a Master 30-win board?
Not in Gold. Matchmaking hides and softens those snapshots. Play a core you can roll. See how to play.
